Laura Mazon Franqui is one of the preeminent Latin-American classical guitarists of her generation. Laura's extensive international tours have taken her to the United States, Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Cuba. Born in Cuba and active as a performer since the age of ten, Laura is a recipient of the prestigious Augustine Artist endorsement from Augustine Strings—an honor shared by such guitar legends as Andres Segovia—and is a distinguished Cordoba Guitars Artist and Guitar Salon International scholarship awardee. A dedicated advocate for music education and empowerment, Laura Mazon Franqui is the Founder and C.E.O. of GuitarGirls, a non-profit promoting female guitarists and composers. She is also involved with the international guitar foundation Guitar Elles, created by virtuoso Gaëlle Solal, and the World Woman Foundation. Laura has taught at the University of Miami Frost Preparatory Program, the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music, as well as the Pasadena Conservatory of Music.
