Laura Mazon Franqui is one of the preeminent Cuban and Latin American classical guitarists of her generation. Her musical rise began with numerous accolades and endorsements, including the prestigious Augustine Artist endorsement sponsored by Augustine Strings, positioning her among the world’s finest guitarists alongside legends like Andres Segovia. Laura is also a distinguished Cordoba Guitars Artist and Guitar Salon International scholarship awardee.

Recently, Laura was honored in the latest edition of Marquis Who's Who in America, recognizing her as one of the most influential musicians and music leaders of her generation. This recognition highlights her significant contributions to the classical guitar repertoire and her innovative approach to the instrument.

Inspired by Maestro Leo Brouwer, Laura’s musical journey commenced at the age of 10 when she joined a children's guitar orchestra, performing at the renowned Festival de La Habana under Brouwer's direction. Her career boasts performances at prestigious venues worldwide, including the Mid-Manhattan Library, Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, Gusman Concert Hall, the Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center, and Teatro Nacional de Cuba. She has also graced major festivals such as the Los Angeles Guitar Festival and Miami International Guitar Festival, and the Concurso de Guitarra de Costa Rica and Festival Guitarra para Todos in Latin America. Laura's extensive international tours have taken her to the United States, Spain, Italy, France, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Cuba.
